Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

We began as part of a three-point parish in 1889 when the pastor of Gol and Moland Lutheran Churches became concerned that there was no Lutheran church in Kenyon.  He found an empty store building, which was renovated in 1890, to become the “Kenyon Church”, six months later a new church was built on our present site.

On August 29, 1924 a fire destroyed the church building.  The church building was rebuilt and is home to a vibrant congregation near the downtown of Kenyon.

Over 125 years old First Lutheran continues to thrive as a congregation caring about local, regional and global ministry and service.
